Walked in like an ugly duckling, walked out feeling like a swan!
Went to this salon looking for someone to do an 'up-do' for a wedding. After trying for 3 days to get hold of Elaine (the lady that does this), I finally managed to get in touch. She was pleasant on the phone and asked me to come and see her the following Saturday (she didn't specify a time) so that we could discuss styles and book an appointment. She asked me to put together a collection of photos of styles I liked. I went in as arranged on the Saturday morning, and was asked to take a seat by Elaine as she was with a client at that point. The salon was obviously busy, being a Saturday so that was fine. I began looking through my photos again while I waited. After 10 mins Elaine came over to me and rather abruptly said 'Yes?'. I explained that I was the lady that wanted an up-do for the wedding. I started to explain what I wanted and she interrupted me, saying 'No, no. I wanna see your photos first'. I was a bit taken aback at this point as I couldn't understand why she being so rude but I went with it. I gave her my phone and said 'just swipe through as there are a few!' and with every swipe, she just said 'No', 'No', 'Cant do that', 'No'. She asked me why I had chosen these styles but before I could explain she said she 'couldn't do structured styles', she could only do 'natural' as she wasn't that kind of hairdresser (why didn't she explain this before I went trawling through the internet?!).I was really uncomfortable at this point as the entire salon were looking at us so I tried to ask her if she had pictures of what she'd done in the past. The response was 'well, I do, yes but as you can see I'm busy with clients'. She'd asked me to come in! I could understand if I had just dropped by. I said 'fine, don't worry about it' and walked out through sheer embarrassment.Never, ever going back. Might be a good salon but customer service is abhorrent. Would have given no stars if I could. Have never, ever been made to feel like that. What kind of hairdresser can't do structured styles when they are advertising prom/wedding hair anyway?? Got my beautiful up-do done at Caroline Barton in Shirley with no fuss, didn't even need to go beforehand and they did a fabulous job.
True legend of hair! Prices are reasonable, staff are friendly and helpful and they know there stuff! Definitely go here If you want affordable, great advise and people who know what they are doing!
