Hobs Moore is really an excellent surgery in my experience, and I cannot rate them highly enough. Me and my family have been with them for a few years now and received fantastic health care in times of need. I think we are really lucky to have them in our neighbourhood. Whenever I call I'm told I should have called earlier, even if I called as soon as the phones opened and it was engaged. I was once told this at 8.40, and I had been trying to get through since 8.30 when they open the lines. The receptionists cut you off when you're trying to explain why its urgent for you to speak to a doctor, and tell you there's nothing all week. A bit of human compassion wouldn't go amiss. As a side note, I've handed over my marriage certificate twice and the system still states my maiden name. This causes all sorts of problems elsewhere.
Great doctors! I have young children & they are very accommodating. Every time Ive needed an appointment when the surgery is full a doctor has called. Reception staff all very helpful. Happy with every doctor Ive seen.
I asked a receptionist if i could book an appointment it a female GP. I was told unless her what is wrong with me she would not issue me with an appointment. i didnt feel comfortable discussing it with a receptionist. I did ask her if she had any medical training , and would be able to tell me what was wrong if i told her and she said no. Due to this i refused to tell her what was wrong, so the receptionist refused to give me an appointment. This is obviously not procedure at the surgery because i did phone again and was given an appointment, but had to wait 4 weeks to see a female GP. I must say that when i did manage to she DR Matthews she was more than helpful and arranged for me to be seen by a specialist and has phoned me up on a number of occasions to discuss test results and further treatment and put my confidence back in the surgery. My only concern now is having to wait a further 4 weeks for another appointment.
