I have stayed here often in the past. It is under new management now and has undergone some major work. Everything feels new and fresh. I had the full Irish ( they probably call it full english over here), every element with very good. The sausages, mushrooms, rashers, hash browns all PERFECT. The black pudding was as good as any artisan black pudding. Very happy
Hotel is situated near by the Solihull center. Within a 10 minute walk you are in the city centre. The room and bathroom are spacious and clean. Room is cleaned and towels provided every day. Breakfast options are full English breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms and hash browns. Fruits, yoghurt and muesli available as well. As a hotel guest you can make use of the swimming pool, hot tubs, sauna and steam bad for free! Even a clean towel provided! Definitely nice hotel, would go back again.
Had a great night at the new years eve party. The gluten free food was lovely. The staff very helpful . Nothing was to much trouble. Breakfast very nice. Staff pleasant and hardworking. Hotel nicely decorated. Room newly refurbished. It was very nice and comfortable.
After staying in this hotel in Summer several times and having problems with the air con not functioning on each occasion and the decor was very tired I chose to use an alternative hotel. However, in December I decided to try them again as they had a refit of the Hotel with fresh paint smell throughout the hotel. Apparently, the room I was given had been released that week as a refurbished room. Whilst the room was a dramatic improvement to the old tired rooms, I found that the air con in the room was still an issue when I entered the room the temp was 13.5 degrees, I should have noticed the clue on the bed that a blanket was left for the occupants. Well, the room by morning had only reached 18 degrees. Nobody expects to have to sleep in a fridge all night. The most uncomfortable night I have had in a long time. When I went down to breakfast at 8:15 and found the self serve breakfast lacking in the basics and the Hotel staff were inattentive I made a complaint to the reception staff and it was agreed that I would receive a refund. I'm writing this now as its 7 days later and I'm still not in receipt of my refund. Now having to chase the hotel manager for this to be resolved.Very Unprofessional!!!
Extremely poor managed hotel.This is One of the worst hotel I ever stayed at. There was no heating in the room & the hotel corridors. The hotel will guarantee to make you shiver in cold weather. Even after complaining, no action taken. The hotel lacks basic facilities & quality. The rooms are tiny, small beds, v cheap quality mattress, paint smell all over the hotel, no drinking water bottles anywhere incl. restaraunt & bar. It seems the staff has also given up & not bothered to make customer welcomed & comfortable.Highly avoidable!
